Dawn's Early Light

First organized in 1955 and known as
The Men's Camellia Club of Columbia


Purpose: The purpose of the Mid-Carolina Camellia Society shall be to inspire, promote and develop an interest in Camellias.

Meetings: The first Tuesday of August, September, October, November, January, February, March and April at 7:00 PM.  A Christmas party for members and guests is held in December.

Meeting Location: Lizard's Thicket on Belt Line Road, Columbia, SC

Dues are $10.00 per year.

An annual fall show is held each October on the first Friday of the South Carolina State Fair in the Ellison Building. An annual spring show is held on the Saturday preceding each Valentine's Day at the Richland Mall. 

Present membership of 60 include members from Camden, Cayce, Chapin, Charleston, Columbia, Elgin, Hartsville, Hopkins, Lexington, Lugoff, Mount Pleasant, Murrell Inlet, Ninety Six, Pelion, Ridge Spring, Santee, Sumter, West Columbia, and Winnsboro in South Carolina and from Charlotte and Fayetteville in North Carolina.
